Push the Warzone Out
Momentum of daily practice.
It's frightening to imagine a world where our basic human wants and desires are satisfied by drugs, some highly calibrated stimulation, magnetically induced neural effects, rather than the good ol' fashioned methods. Run a marathon. Climb a mountain or read a book, find religion.
How long would we last? If the urge to fuck and reproduce could be mollified by a pill or programming...
Maybe we could prescribe it for hospice care.
We design an interface for our users, but maybe it should be the other way around -- let the people / AI / etc. tell us what they need and how, and they can build their own clients on demand with LLM agents and what have you.
It's not that I'm stupider, it's that I'm feeling less secure.
Don't we want to push the warzone out?
Why keep it tucked within our walls?
If you want peace, do you invite war to your walls.
How much of the vacuum of space is just due to its hostility to existience?
We moved our media from denser and denser physical disks to a datacenter elsewhere. What's next? Where are the bottlenecks?
Capacity constraints? Datacenter can scale but only so far as the physical infrastructure exists.
Decentralized infra. The volley between DC and client. Let the clients do more (when there are more clients than servers).
Fuck it - be willing to fail.
